Dispute Resolution Services
Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO)
When a dispute or grievance arises within a club it is beneficial to call upon your MPIO or Grievance Officer if you have one to start the resolution process.
The role of a qualified MPIO is to advise both parties of the club processes and procedures toward resolution and make them aware of their rights according to club rules and policies.
The MPIO does not investigate complaints, provide legal advice, or pass judgment. They are an impartial and unbiased party charged with passing on information to affected club members.
Sports Focus has trained Member Protection Information Officers who can facilitate this process.
Mediation Services
If initial dispute resolution processes do not lead to an outcome that is mutually agreed upon, formal mediation may be the next step. Mediation processes can begin once the club has fully completed all grievance procedures and still has not come to a resolution.
Sports Focus has a trained mediator who can facilitate this process.
Please note that these services incur a fee. Speak to us about your needs and we can develop a proposal to suit your club.
